No. 28 Trojans Look Ahead to Mars Hill Friday

ANDERSON, S.C. – The No. 28 Anderson Trojans (9-1, 4-1 SAC) will hit the road again on Friday to take on the Mars Hill Lions (4-8, 2-3 SAC) in Mars Hill, N.C. AU looks to build on their 4-3 win Monday at Lenoir-Rhyne, while the Lions will host the Trojans as the third match of their 4-match homestand.

Last Time Out

AU added another win to their undefeated 6-0 road record with a 4-3 victory at Lenoir-Rhyne. Despite the Bears winning the doubles point to take the 1-0 lead, the Black and Gold bounced back in singles. AU won 4 singles matches, capped off by senior Spencer Snow's 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 5 that clinched the team match.

 

Sengariz Standing Out

Sophomore Juan Sengariz scored a tight 6-4, 7-6(4) win last time out against Lenoir-Rhyne. Sengariz improved to 8-2 on the season, which includes a 5-match winning streak earlier in the year. The Santander, Spain native looks to build on his recent success Friday.

 

A Look At Mars Hill

  • The Lions will host the Trojans as the third match of their four-match homestand, following 4-3 wins over Emory & Henry and UVA Wise on Monday and Wednesday.
  • Junior Marcos Martinez has paced the Mars Hill singles lineup with a 7-4 record, split between the No. 4 and No. 5 positions.
  • When it comes to doubles, the Lions' No. 2 pair of Eliot Deknuydt and Faris Hadzisadikovic have a team-high 6 wins on the season.
