SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Anderson University men's tennis (4-0) earned its championship segment opening win, 6-1, over nonconference opponent Converse (1-1) on Saturday afternoon at the Sally Abney Rose Complex.
The Trojans opened the match, winning the doubles portion to claim the early one-point lead.
After winning at the No. 2 slot and dropping the No. 3 position, the double point came down to the winner at the No. 1 spot. AU's Greyson Doscotch and Philip Olsson battled and defeated Legrand/Berrouet, 7-6 (7-5).
Despite dropping the first set, sophomore Juan Sengariz clinched the match for the Trojans defeating Enzo Marcheschi 1-6, 6-1, 6-1.
Anderson will host nonconference opponent North Georgia on Feb. 11th. First-serve is slated for 2 pm.
