Davis Named Assistant Baseball Coach

ANDERSON, S.C. - Anderson University head baseball coach Joe Miller has announced that former Trojan hurler Kaleb Davis has been named assistant coach.

"I am excited to have Kaleb join our program as pitching coach," Miller said. "Kaleb was a dedicated member of our program for five years and has the background and desire to help us win."

Described by Miller as the "most dedicated pitcher he ever coached," Davis underwent two major arm surgeries during his collegiate career with the Trojans. The 6-foot-3, 190 pound right-hander made 23 appearances, including 19 starts, on the mound with the Trojans between 2007 and 2011, tossing 61 innings and recording 22 career strikeouts.

Davis was an academic all-conference selection during his career and threw a career-high seven innings while scattering five hits and notching a strikeout in a 2-1 win over Mars Hill as a freshman in 2007.

"I feel very fortunate to be named the pitching coach as well as having the opportunity to work for Coach Miller," Davis said. "Anderson University has a strong athletics program and I look forward to doing my part in adding to its' continued success."

Davis, who served as pitching coach and recruiting coordinator at Point University since earning his degree in kinesiology from Anderson in May, 2011, has assumed the same duties for the Trojans.

A native of Orangeburg, S.C., Davis is married to the former Jamie Rusnak of Columbia, S.C., who earned a degree in education from Anderson University.
