Blake May Earns Southeast Region Gold Glove Honors

ANDERSON, S.C. - For the second consecutive year, former Anderson University standout third baseman Blake May has been named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Division II Southeast Region Rawlings Gold Glove Team.

May posted a stellar .964 fielding percentage on the season, committing just five errors while starting 49 games for the Trojans and earning the South Atlantic Conference Gold Glove award at third base for the second straight year. He committed just 10 errors over the last two seasons, also garnering recognition as a member of the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Team in 2011.

This season, May helped turn nine double plays from his spot on the left side of the infield. On the offensive side this season, the native of Largo, Fla., was third on the squad with a .326 batting average and tied catcher Brett Scarberry with 60 hits and 31 RBI. May also led the team with 21 walks on the season.

Each member of the All Region Gold Glove Team is eligible for NCAA Division II Rawlings All-American Gold Glove consideration, which will be selected in conjunction with the Division II National Championship Tournament.

The ABCA All-Southeast Region and Gold Glove teams are selected by a vote of the coaches in the region.
