DAHLONEGA, Ga. - Sophomore Zach Reeves singled with one out in the top of the 12th inning to drive home the go-ahead run and also scored, lifting the Anderson University baseball team to a 2-0 non-conference win past North Georgia Wednesday night at Bob Stein Stadium.

Less than 24 hours after playing a five-hour contest at home that included a three hour rain delay, Anderson (12-30) avenged a 10-6 setback suffered eight days ago at the hands of the Saints, who slipped to 16-17 on the season. With the win, the Trojans have won two of their last three and handed North Georgia its second consecutive setback.

Senior shortstop Thomas Padro led off the 12th inning with his second walk of the night and moved into scoring position on sophomore Josh Hickman's sacrifice bunt back to the pitcher. Reeves followed with his third single of the contest, with Padro going to third on the hit to left. Both runners crossed the plate when Saints' catcher Eason Spivey threw the ball into center field while attempting to throw out Reeves at second base.

Reeves finished the night 3-for-5 and scored once, while senior Ryan Kirkland and sophomore Hickman each added a pair of singles for the Trojans.

Freshman right-hander Spencer Earle got the start on the mound for the Trojans, going seven strong innings, while scattering six hits and striking out two. Senior Riley McDermott (1-4) earned the win with five scoreless innings, surrendering just two hits.

The Trojans worked North Georgia reliever Reese Patten (0-2) for two runs off three hits in 2 1/3 innings, saddling him with the loss.

Anderson will get back on the diamond for a three-game South Atlantic Conference series against Newberry starting on Friday. First-pitch at Memorial Stadium is scheduled for 6 p.m.
