WINSTON-SALEM, N.C./BOSTON, Mass. – Opening the 2023-24 indoor season in a split weekend at two different locations, the Anderson University men's and women's track and field teams posted impressive results at the Visit Winston-Salem College Kick-Off at the JDL Fast Track while others competed at the Sharon Colyear-Danvile Season Opener at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.

  • Sophomore Elliot Dotson (Greenville, S.C.) captured a 202nd place finish in the men's 5000m run with a time of 14:50.58 amongst a largely Division I field.
  • Freshman Kennedy Roush (Greenville, S.C.) notched a 95th place finish in the women's 3000m run with a time of 10:00.15.

Visit Winston-Salem College Kick-Off

  • Junior Lacey Boozer (Simpsonville, S.C.) and senior Brianna Quartararo (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) both notched top-8 finishes in the women's 400m. Boozer finished fourth with a time of 59.15 while Quartararo                 took home sixth in 59.66.
  • Sophomore Emma Whitaker (Inman, S.C.) took home a seventh-place finish in the in the women's 3000m with a time of 10:45.35.
  • The Trojans turned in four of the top-8 finishers in the women's 5000m as senior Emily Golden (Tifton, Ga.) placed second (18:15.18), sophomore Sarah Rudolph (Winter Springs, Fla.) took home fourth (18:26.90), senior Faith Nelson (Moore, S.C.) finished right behind her in fifth (18:33.54) while sophomore Lucy Schmitt (Greenville, S.C.) rounded out the placings in seventh (19:05.32).
  • The men's squad posted similar results in their 5000 event as junior Ty Nelson (Moore, S.C.) took home a third place finish (15:15.11), freshman Sean McAdams (Greenville, S.C.) placed fourth (15:20.23), freshman Jake Dentler (Traveler's Rest, S.C.) notched seventh place (15:36.26) and junior David Williams (Columbia, S.C.) finished just outside the top-8 in ninth place (15:53.73).
  • Freshman Jorja Fox (Easley, S.C.) posted an eighth-place finish in the women's pole vault event, eclipsing 3.05m.
  • In the men's pole vault, sophomore Lucas Pryor (Greer, S.C.) notched a sixth-place finish with a leap of 4.25m.

The Trojans return to competition on  Friday, December 8 as they make the short trip to Clemson, S.C. to take part in the Clemson Opener.
