ROCK HILL, S.C. – Anderson University freshman hurler Walker Noland has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday Morning.

Noland, a native of Marietta, Ga., tossed five scoreless innings, Sunday afternoon to help lead the Trojans to a weekend series sweep of Bluefield State.

The right-hander earned the win in AU's 8-1 victory over the Big Blue after allowing just four singles over five full innings of work, while striking out eight batters and walking just one.

He is the first Trojan pitcher to win the weekly honor since former standout hurler Lucas Smith garnered the award in mid-April, 2020.
