Women’s Soccer Prepares for SAC Showdown with Tusculum

ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University women's soccer prepares for a South Atlantic Conference showdown with Tusculum on Saturday afternoon with each team vying to remain undefeated in conference action.

SERIES HISTORY
Last season, Anderson won its first regular season match, 2-1 (2OT), over Tusculum since a 1-0 double overtime triumph in 2011. That same year, AU and TC squared off in the first round of the SAC Tournament with TC winning on penalty kicks to advance to the next round. The Black and Gold's overall record versus the Pioneers is 2-3-1.

ANDERSON OVERVIEW
• Senior Emily Perez scored the golden goal Wednesday afternoon in a 1-0 overtime victory against Brevard for her first goal of the year and seventh of her career.
• The Trojans are looking to remain perfect in South Atlantic Conference action.
• Senior Tina Shakes leads Anderson in goals with eight.
• Senior Alaina Gay and Sophomore Sophie Riggs leads the Trojans with two assists apiece.

TUSCULUM OVERVIEW
• Junior Carlie Thornber and Sophomore Ellie Tomanssoni lead the Pioneer with two goals apiece.
• Senior goalkeeper Miriah Martin has recorded 30 saves with two shutouts.
• Senior Olivai Kilgore leads the Pioneers with four assists on the year.
• Tusculum is coached by 20 year veteran Mike Joy. Since joining DII for the 1998 season, the Pioneers have never posted a losing record in those 18 years.
