TROJANS UNLEASH ON LIONS IN SLUGFEST

MARS HILL, NC--Big bats were ringing throughout the Blue Ridge Mountains yesterday as the Anderson University Trojan baseball team beat future South Atlantic Conference foe Mars Hill Lions 16-14 in yet another slugfest. The two teams combined for 30 runs on 28 RBI, 4 HR and 7 2B. Offense hasn't seemed to be even a remote problem for the #23 Trojan this season. "We hit real well today, but definitely didn't have our best game," said Trojan assistant coach Jason Rutland. "But it's good to get some wins like that in a long season." Blair Carson led the Trojans at the plate going 3-6 with seven RBI. The senior blasted a grand slam in the eighth to tie the game at 13. Carson hit a pair of homeruns on the day, while junior Matt Hill chipped in, going 4-5 with a homerun and four runs scored. Justin Rogers picked up the win (1-0) in relief; Blair Carson protected his Trojans' lead, picking up the save with an inning and a third on the bump. The #23 Trojans will remain on the road tomorrow, as they head to Central, SC to square off against Southern Weslyan University. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00pm. Box Score
