AU Takes Conference Series From #7 Mount Olive

Anderson, S.C. - The Trojans of Anderson took the third game from Mount Olive 10-6. This conference win by Anderson marks the first time Mount Olive has lost a conference series since March of 2006. Anderson was held scoreless by Mount Olive starter Patrick Ball through three innings, before erupting for five runs in the fourth. The Trojans of Anderson would not trail after the fourth. Blair Carson threw seven strong innings for the win, scattering seven hits and allowing 3 runs. Welch would pitch the final two innings for the Trojans. Carson was also 2-4 at the plate. Others leading the offensive attack for Anderson were first baseman Andrew Davis and shortstop Blake May. Davis was 1-4 with 3RBI, while May was 2-3 with 2RBI. The win improves Anderson to 10-4 (5-1). Anderson will travel to Erskine for a non-conference matchup on Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00pm.
