Anderson Uses Turnovers To Rout Erskine, 88-60

ANDERSON, S.C. - Anderson University scored 38 points off 26 Erskine turnovers to rout the Flying Fleet 88-60 in a women's CVAC game Monday night at the Abney Center. Anderson, 10-2 overall and 6-1 in the CVAC, has won eight straight games. The loss drops Erskine to 5-7, 3-4. Anderson placed five players in double figures. Keana Boyd and Mikala Fogle-Wilson scored 18 points apiece, LaShonda Chiles scored 16, Deidra Langston tallied 15, and Latrice Thomas chipped in 11. Chiles, a junior from Greenwood, extended her double-figure scoring streak to 57 straight games. Lauren Brendle scored 16 points to lead Erskine. Anderson finished the game with 21 steals, seven by Chiles and five by Boyd. The Lady Trojans led 18-17 midway through the first half. A 14-4 run gave Anderson a 32-21 lead with 4:48 remaining in the first half. In the first 12 and a half minutes of the second half, Anderson outscored Erskine 27-10 to put the game away. Chiles scored 10 of the 27 points. Anderson has scored 80 or more points in its last six games. Led by Genia Holbrook's 11 rebounds, Anderson dominated the boards, 54-36. Langston and Thomas had nine rebounds apiece for the Lady Trojans. Anderson's work on the boards led to 28 second-chance points. Anderson shot just 39 percent from the field but took 29 more shots than Erskine. Erskine made just 17 field goals and shot just 34 percent from the field.
