Lady Trojans Head To Clemson

ANDERSON, S.C. -- The Anderson College Lady Trojans will journey to Clemson University Tuesday night for an exhibition game against the Lady Tigers. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at Littlejohn Coliseum. Anderson, 33-3 overall last season, is led by junior guard LaShonda Chiles and junior forward Deidra Langston. Chiles, the 2004-05 Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference Female Athlete of the Year, was one of leading scorers in Division II last season at 22.8 points per game. Anderson, the defending CVAC regular-season and tournament champions, are the preseason favorite in the '05-06 CVAC race. The game will be the first action for both head coaches -- Jeff Dow of Anderson and Christie McKinney of Clemson. "This is a tremendous opportunity for our basketball team to play against an ACC program," said Dow, who took the AC job after three years as an assistant at Colorado State. "Our players are excited about the game." There is a connection between the Anderson and Clemson programs. Anderson, coached by Annie Tribble, beat Clemson three times during the 1975-76 season. After the season, Tribble was named the head coach at Clemson and won 200 games in 11 seasons with the Lady Tigers. Tickets for $6 for adults and $4 for students.
