Langston Named First-Team All-Region

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Deidra Langston of Anderson University was named to the Daktronics Division II East Region first team Tuesday. Langston, a 5-foot-10 senior from Gainesville, Ga., will now be placed on the All-American ballot. "Dee Dee has had a great senior season," said Anderson head coach Jeff Dow. "We are proud of her for being named first-team All-Region. She truly is one of the best players in the country." Langston was named CVAC Player of the Year, first-team All-CVAC and to the CVAC's All-Time team. Langston led the CVAC in scoring at 20.6 points per game. She also averaged eight rebounds, two steals, and one block per game. She has recorded nine double-doubles this season. During her final season with the Lady Trojans, she has had 26 double-figure scoring games and she has scored 20 or more points 14 times. She has scored 30 or more points four times, including two games in last week's CVAC Tournament. The other members of the first team are Kim Nowakowski of California (Pa.), Rachel Redick of Glenville State, Jeannie Saunders of Salem International, and Jahzinga Tracey of Indiana (Pa.). Redick, a 5-8 senior guard from Franklin, Pa., was named East Region Player of the Year. Four of the five members of the first team will be playing in the East Regional at Glenville, W.Va.
