HARTSVILLE, S.C. -- Freshman Shadae Thompson made one free throw with 22 seconds remaining in overtime and Anderson University stopped Coker's final possession as the Lady Trojans pulled out a 75-74 CVAC victory Monday night. Anderson, 20-3 overall and 14-2 in the league, led 38-29 at the break, but Coker quickly got back into the game in the opening minutes of the second half. There were six ties and four lead changes in the second half. The victory clinches Anderson's fourth straight 20-win season and keeps the Lady Trojans in a tie for first place with Pfeiffer. Anderson led 67-63 with 31 seconds remaining, but a field goal by Coker's Rebecca Kolbeck with 10 seconds remaining, two missed free throws by Deidra Langston, and a basket by Coker's India Elliot with one second remaining sent the game to overtime. Anderson survived a rare poor night at the free throw line. The Lady Trojans, who entered the game shooting 76 percent from the line, made just 23 of 40 from the line. In the overtime period, Anderson trailed 74-71 with 2:02 remaining. Three free throws by Langston in a 45-second span tied the game at 74 with 1:02 to play, the 13th tie of the game. Coker, 6-18 and 4-13, took just two shots in the final 1:59. Anderson was led by Langston with 28 points and 13 rebounds, six off the offensive glass. Keana Boyd added 22 points and Thompson chipped in 11 for the Lady Trojans. Coker placed four players in double figures. India Elliot had 22 points, Lotta Aaltonen scored 20, Kolbeck tallied 12, and Henna Koponen had 11. Anderson shot 43 percent from the field to Coker's 42 percent. Led by Langston and Genia Holbrook, who had nine rebounds, Anderson won the boards, 54-34. Coker had an 18-0 advantage behind the arc. Anderson was 0-for-9 from 3-point range.
