MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. -- Mount Olive placed four players in double figures and limited Anderson University to 28 percent from the field to beat AU 68-56 Saturday afternoon. The loss, Anderson's third in its last four games, drops the Lady Trojans to 21-6 overall and 15-5 in the CVAC. Mount Olive improves to 15-12, 11-9. Anderson jumped out to a 4-0 lead, but then Mount Olive went on a 31-11 run for a 31-15 lead with 7:01 remaining in the first half. Mount Olive led 38-24 at the half. Mount Olive built a 17-point lead early in the second half, but Anderson went on a 22-8 run to slice the MO lead to 49-46 with 6:58 remaining. But that's where the Anderson rally stopped. Two 3-point goals by Brittney Robich pushed Mount Olive's lead back to nine -- 55-46 -- with 4:43 to play. Robich led Mount Olive with 20 points. She was followed by Helen Moore with 16, Sierra Medeiros with 13, and Keona Corley with 12. Corley had nine of Mount Olive's 19 assists. Deidra Langston led Anderson with 20 points, 15 rebounds, and five steals. Mikala Fogle-Wilson added 15 points for AU. Anderson failed to shoot better than 30 percent in either half. AU had 46 total rebounds, 21 off the offensive glass, but had just six second-chance points. Anderson will be the No. 3 seed in the CVAC Tournament. Anderson opens play in the CVAC Tournament Wednesday at 7 p.m. Anderson's quarterfinal opponent will be determined Monday night.
