Segers Scores 36 To Lead AC Past Royals

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Leann Segers scored a career-high 36 points to lead Anderson to a 75-70 victory over Queens University of Charlotte in a CVAC women's game Thursday night. Segers scored 20 of her 36 points in the first half. She finished the game 13 of 20 from the field and 7 of 12 from behind the arc. Decole Shoemate added 16 points and Deanna Thompson chipped in 14 for the Lady Trojans, who won for the sixth time in seven games to improve to 7-5 overall and 4-1 in the CVAC. Segers' total was two points off the school single-game record of 38 held by Regina McCoy. It also was her second 30-point game this season. Thompson also had a career-high 15 rebounds, five assists, and five steals for AC. Queens, 4-7 overall and 2-3 in the CVAC, placed four players in double figures. Kallie Joplin led the Royals with 16 points. AC rallied from a 52-44 deficit in the second half. Queens shot 47 percent from the field but suffered 25 turnovers. AC scored 23 points off Queens' turnovers. The Royals won the boards, 44-37. Joplin was the game's top rebounder with seven. Game Statistics Season Statistics
