Lady Trojans Blister Limestone, 97-67

ANDERSON, S.C. - Anderson College topped 90 points for the third time this season on its way to a 97-67 romp over Limestone in a CVAC women's game Saturday afternoon at the Abney Center. AC, 6-5 overall and 3-1 in the CVAC, has won five of its last six. Limestone remains winless at 0-10, 0-4. The Lady Trojans, who are 6-0 at home this season, shot 60 percent from the field and averaged 1.05 points per possession. Through 11 games, AC is averaging 80.7 points per game. Anderson was led by Leann Segers with 23 points, Decole Shoemate with 19 points and Deanna Thompson with 14 points. Segers was 10-for-15 from the field. Shoemate also had seven assists, four rebounds, and four steals. Shell Lowrance and Laura Knapp led Limestone with 16 points and 15 points, respectively. The Lady Trojans started pulling away late in the first half. Leading 33-25, AC went on a 13-6 run to close the first half for a 46-31 lead at the break. Kelly Latham ended the first half for AC with a 3-point goal with six seconds remaining. In the second half, AC increased its lead from 15 to 24 in the first four minutes of the second half. Three-point goals by Segers and Shoemate fueled that run. AC's lead topped 30 with 2:31 to play - 90-60 - on two free throws by Shoemate. The Lady Trojans won the boards, 41-31.
