Lady Trojans Lead The Nation In Scoring Again

ANDERSON, S.C. -- For the second time in three years, the Anderson University women's basketball team led the nation in scoring, according to the final NCAA Division II statistics released Wednesday, Apr. 5. The Lady Trojans, 27-5 overall, averaged 83.5 points per game to win the scoring title. "Winning the scoring title is a major accomplishment for our team," said Anderson head coach Jeff Dow. "We were productive because our players believed in our system. We want to play at a fast pace, and we want our pressure defense to create easy scoring opportunities." Anderson also finished in the top 25 in scoring margin (13.0), won-lost percentage (.844), and turnovers per game (15.1). A total of 281 schools are included in the Division II rankings. In the individual rankings, LaShonda Chiles finished third in scoring (23.8) and 17th in 3-point goals per game (2.8), and Deidra Langston finished 29th in both scoring (18.2) and field-goal percentage (.541).
