Lady Trojans Receive Third Straight NCAA Bid

ANDERSON, S.C. - The Anderson University Lady Trojans, the regular season and tournament champions of the Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference, will be the No. 3 seed in the East Regional. "We're excited to have earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament," said Anderson head coach Jeff Dow. "We've had a great year so far and we've accomplished a lot of goals. We want to keep it going. This is a fun group for me to coach. They're great people and great student-athletes." The East Regional begins Friday at Charleston, W.Va. Anderson, 26-4 overall, will face West Liberty State in Friday's first round. Anderson beat West Liberty at California, Pa., in its first-ever NCAA Tournament game in 2004. Anderson is making its third consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament. The Lady Trojans are 3-2 in the NCAA Tournament. Anderson reach the East Regional final last season. The Lady Trojans are led by a pair of first-team All-CVAC selections - junior guard LaShonda Chiles and junior forward Deidra Langston. In the other regional quarterfinals, host and No. 1 seed Charleston (W.Va.) will play No. 8 seed Edinboro, No. 4 California (Pa.) will face No. 5 Wheeling Jesuit, and No. 2 Glenville State will take on No. 7 Barton. The winner of the Anderson-West Liberty State game will play the winner of the Glenville State-Barton game on Saturday. The regional final will be played on Monday night. The winner of the regional will advance to the Elite Eight, Mar. 22-25 at the Summit Arena in Hot Springs, Ark.
