Langston Named Player Of The Week

THOMASVILLE, N.C. -- Deidra Langston of Anderson University (18-3 overall, 14-1 CVAC) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference (CVAC) women's basketball Player of the Week. Langston helped the Lady Trojans to three more CVAC victories this week, two were on the road, by averaging 22.6 points per game for the week. The Lady Trojans started the week off with a 77-68 win over Belmont Abbey. Langston, a junior forward from Gainesville, Ga., scored 21 points, pulled down seven rebounds and had one assist in the victory. In Anderson's 106-65 victory at Lees-McRae, Langston scored 26 points in just 28 minutes and was 11-of-14 from the field. In the final game of the week, Langston again scored 21 points and had three rebounds, two assists, and seven steals in AU's 79-54 win over Mount Olive. For the week, Langston shot almost 68 percent from the field. She also contributed on the defensive end with 11 steals in three games.
