Anderson Women Beat Belmont Abbey, 77-68

BELMONT, N.C. -- LaShonda Chiles scored 28 points and Deidra Langston added 21 to lead Anderson University to a 77-68 victory over Belmont Abbey in a Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference women's game Monday night at the Wheeler Center. Anderson, 15-3 overall and 11-1 in the CVAC, led by as many as 16 points in the first half. In the second half, Belmont Abbey (9-9, 6-6) could get no closer than seven points. Chiles, a junior from Greenwood, S.C., continued her recent hot streak for the Lady Trojans. She averaged 24 points per game in three games last week and now has 1,807 points for her career. She has scored in double figures in 63 straight games. Belmont Abbey was led by Nicole Woods with 20 points and Sierra Madison with 14 points.
