Chiles Named CVAC Player Of The Week

THOMASVILLE, N.C. -- LaShonda Chiles of Anderson University (15-3 overall, 11-1 CVAC) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference (CVAC) women's basketball Player of the Week. Chiles, a junior from Greenwood, S.C., is the first Anderson player to be honored this season. Chiles capped off a stellar week with a 29-point performance in Anderson's 67-63 victory over Barton Saturday night. In addition to her 29 points, Chiles, who played all 40 minutes against the Bulldogs in the showdown for first place in the CVAC standings, also had seven assists, five rebounds, and three steals. Her 29-point effort tied her season high. For the week, Chiles averaged 24.6 points and 6.6 assists per game in three CVAC victories.
