Lady Trojans Will Play At 1 p.m. Friday

ANDERSON, S.C. -- The Anderson University women's basketball team will face West Liberty State in the first quarterfinal game of the 2006 East Regional Friday at the Eddie King Gym on the campus of the University of Charleston (W.Va.). Third-seeded Anderson, the CVAC regular-season and tournament champions, enters the 1 p.m. game with a 26-4 record, while No. 6 seed West Liberty State stands at 24-6. Anderson beat West Liberty State 88-78 in the first round of the 2004 NCAA Tournament at California, Pa. In the other quarterfinal games, No. 2 seed Glenville State (28-2) will face No. 7 Barton (23-7) at 3 p.m., top-seeded and host Charleston (W.Va.) (28-2) will take on No. 8 Edinboro (21-9) at 6 p.m., and No. 4 California (Pa.) (26-4) will play No. 5 Wheeling Jesuit (26-4) at 8 p.m. If Anderson wins its opening game, it will play the winner of the Glenville State-Barton game in the semifinal round at 8 p.m. Saturday.
