Chiles Named CVAC Player Of The Week

THOMASVILLE, N.C. -- Lashonda Chiles of Anderson College (15-6 overall, 10-4 CVAC) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference (CVAC) women's basketball Player of the Week for the second week in February. Chiles, a 5-foot-2 freshman guard from Greenwood, S.C., led AC to three conference victories this week against Belmont Abbey (95-88), Pfeiffer (83-79), and first-place Barton (83-71). Her 30 points against Barton set a single-game career high. She played 111 of a possible 120 minutes for the week, averaging 26.6 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. She is among the nation's leaders in FT percentage. For the season, Chiles is shooting 49 percent from the field, 38 percent from behind the arc, and 87 percent from the free throw line.
