ANDERSON, S.C. -- The Anderson College women's basketball team will face Armstrong Atlantic State in the first round of the eighth annual Disney Division II Tip-Off Classic Nov. 5 in Orlando, Fla. The Tip-Off Classic is considered one of the most prestigious events in Division II basketball. It is the only sanctioned preseason tournament in the country. The event, co-sponsored by the Division II Commissioners Association, attracts schools from eight different regions. Joining Anderson and Armstrong Atlantic in the field for the Nov. 5-7 event are Bentley (Mass.), Henderson State (Ark.), Mesa State (Colo.), Philadelphia, Wisconsin-Parkside, and USC Aiken. The tournament will be played at the 5,000-seat Milk House Arena at Disney's Wide World of Sports. Anderson, 25-7 overall last season, will be making its first appearance in the tournament. The Lady Trojans have four starters returning from the 2003-04 squad that led the nation in scoring at 85.0 per game, won the CVAC Tournament, and reached the second round of the NCAA East Regional.
