CALIFORNIA, Pa. -- Anderson College freshman guard LaShonda Chiles was named to the East Regional All-Tournament team Monday night. Chiles, a 5-foot-2 native of Greenwood, S.C., scored 44 points in two regional games, including 32 in Anderson's 88-78 first-round victory over West Liberty State last Friday. Chiles finished the season with a school single-season record 578 points (18.6 average). In the game against West Liberty State, Chiles was 14-for-21 from the field and had six rebounds. Chiles was named CVAC Freshman of the Year and MVP of the CVAC Tournament. Host California (Pa.) won the regional title and trip to the Elite Eight by beating Glenville State, 74-63 Monday night. The other members of the East Regional All-Tournament team were Sameera Philyaw and Sara McKinney of California (Pa.), Tracy Wyatt and Carrie Triplett of Glenville State, and Keauna Vinson of Barton.
