FLORENCE, S.C. -- The Anderson College softball team won two games in the rain-delayed CVAC Tournament Saturday at Freedom Florence. The Lady Trojans beat Mount Olive 2-1 and Queens (N.C.) 10-4. The two victories improve Anderson's record to 30-20 for the first 30-victory season in the history of the four-year program. In the victory over Mount Olive, a leadoff single by Caroline Rochester in the sixth helped fuel a two-run rally. Anderson scored two runs in the top of the sixthlead to 2-0 in the sixth after a leadoff single by Caroline Rochester. Liz Recny hit a homerun for MOC in the top of the seventh. In their second game of the day, the Lady Trojans scored six runs in the first and four in the second and cruised to victory. Queens avoided an early end with three runs in the second and two more in the third. Rochester went 3-5 in the game with a single, a double, and a triple. In its next game, Anderson will play Coker at 1 p.m. Sunday. Because of the rain that hit the Florence area on Friday and Saturday, the tournament championship game has been moved to Monday.
