McCrodden Leads AC To Split At Queens

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Kelly McCrodden allowed just one run and four hits and Anderson College rallied for four runs in the top of the eighth to take a 4-1 victory in the second game and a split of a CVAC softball doubleheader against Queens University of Charlotte Monday afternoon. In the first game, Queens rallied for three runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 6-4 victory. Anderson is now 6-7 overall and 2-1 in the CVAC. In the first game, Britne Stubbs had three hits and two RBI for Queens. Angela Hauff had two hits in four trips for Anderson. Anderson took a 4-3 lead in the top of the fifth by pushing four runs across. Caroline Rochester had a two-run single in the inning. In the decisive fifth inning, Queens used a walk, a single, an error, and a two-out single by Serena Fierro to score three unearned runs. The second game was scoreless through seven innings. In the top of the eighth, Cindy Crosby and Rochester both provided run-scoring singles to make it 2-0 Anderson. After a sacrifice fly by Kristen Price brought home the third run, Kari Huggins singled to bring home Rochester with the fourth run of the inning. Crosby and Rochester had two hits apiece for Anderson in the second game. McCrodden struck out two and walked three to pick up the victory for Anderson. Season Statistics
