Fountain Sparkles In Coker Sweep Of AC

ANDERSON, S.C. - Kaylene Fountain hit a three-run homer in the bottom of sixth inning of the second game to give Coker a 4-3 victory and a sweep of Anderson College in a CVAC doubleheader Monday afternoon. In the first game, Fountain hit a home run, drove in three runs, scored two runs, and pitched a complete game to lead Coker to a 10-4 victory. Summer Joyner added to the Coker offensive attack in the first game with two home runs and four RBI. Anderson took a 3-1 lead in the fourth inning of the second game when Kari Huggins had an RBI single and PJ Taylor provided a two-run single. After Fountain's home run in the sixth, Anderson tried to rally in the seventh. With Angela Hauff on third and Cindy Crosby on second and two outs, Kristen Price lined out to the shortstop to end the game. Fountain, who came into pitch the seventh after one out, picked up the save. The sweep improves Coker to 14-8 overall and 12-2 in the CVAC. The sweep snapped a five-game Anderson winning streak and drops the Lady Trojans to 16-14, 4-3. Season Statistics
