Softball Team Batters Emmanuel

ANDERSON, S.C. - The Anderson College softball team ripped Emmanuel 9-1 and 9-0 in a non-conference doubleheader Tuesday afternoon at Smethers Field. In the first game, Caroline Rochester had two hits and drove in three runs and Lauren Powell allowed just one run on two hits to lead Anderson to a 9-1 victory in six innings. Powell struck out nine and walked none to pick up her eighth victory of the season. Rochester had a two-run single in the second inning then drove home the run that ended the game with two outs in the sixth inning. Angela Hauff also had two hits for Anderson in the first game. In the second game, Rochester had three hits and drove in three runs and Hauff and Carolyn Smith both had two hits apiece to lead Anderson to a 9-0 victory in five innings. Kelly McCrodden struck out seven and allowed just one single to earn the victory for Anderson. Rochester had an RBI single in the first inning and a two-run single in the second. Smith drove in a run with a ground out in the second and then had an RBI triple in the fourth. Anderson is now 14-12 overall. Season Statistics
