CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Queens University of Charlotte shot 59 percent in the second half on its way to an 87-75 victory over Anderson College in a CVAC game Monday night at The Oven. The difference in the game was 3-point shooting and free throws. The Royals, 6-5 overall and 3-1 in the CVAC, made six more 3-point goals and six more free throws than the Trojans. The Royals were 12-for-27 from behind the arc, while Anderson was 6-for-18. The Royals made 13 of 19 from the line, while Anderson made just 7 of 16. The loss drops Anderson to 4-6 overall and 2-2 in the CVAC. Queens was led by Richard Barrett with 17 points, B.J. Timmons with 16 points, and Timon Farley with 15 points. Anderson, which shot 57 percent from the field for the game, was led by Randy Javois with 18 points, Osvaldo Haynes with 14 points and Ronald Bowers and Chris Poore with 10 points apiece. Haynes had a game-high 12 rebounds as the Trojans won the boards, 37-25. But Anderson committed 21 turnovers while Queens turned it over just 12 times.
