TIGERVILLE, S.C. -- Amonzo Gantt recorded his fourth consecutive double-double with 16 points and 11 boards as North Greenville University knocked off Anderson University 62-54 Saturday afternoon in NCAA Division II men's basketball action. The Crusaders improve to 10-10 on the season, while the Trojans fall to 2-17. Aiding Gantt were P.J. Schumacher and Jordan Richmond, who scored 14 and 10 points, respectively, for the Crusaders. North Greenville shot 46 percent from the field for the game. J.R. Howell led all scorers with 26 points to lead the Trojans. Nathan Russell added 10 points and John LeSueur chipped in nine points. Anderson also finished at 46 percent from the field. Anderson came out in the first half firing. The Trojans built a 12-point lead in the first six minutes. North Greenville rallied with a 15-3 run over the next seven minutes to tie the game. The Crusaders took the lead on a 3-point basket by Schumacher with 30 seconds remaining in the half. North Greenville led 29-28 at the break. The second half featured 12 lead changes. Both Schumacher and Richmond scored eight points in the second period to spur the Crusaders, who took the lead for good -- 52-50 -- at the 3:43 mark on a pair of Austin Randel free throws. The game was Anderson's final non-conference game of the season. Anderson returns to action Monday night at Erskine.
