Barton Guns Down Anderson

WILSON, N.C. -- Barton made 17-of-33 from 3-point range on its way to a 98-64 victory over Anderson University in a CVAC game Saturday night. With the victory, Barton (8-4, 6-0) moves into first place in the CVAC standings. The loss drops Anderson to 2-10, 2-4. The Bulldogs took control early. Barton led 32-14 at the 10:21 mark and 50-20 at the 3:09 mark. Barton's largest lead was 37 points -- 80-43 -- with 11:52 remaining. Barton had five players score in double figures -- Bobby Buffaloe 19, Anthony Atkinson 17, Mark Friscone 13, Brian Leggett 12, and L.J. Dunn 10. Buffaloe and Atkinson both were 5-for-8 from behind the arc. Atkinson also had a game-high eight assists. Anderson's leading scorer was J.R. Howell with 16. L.A. Sartor contributed 10 points off the bench. Barton scored 28 points off 19 Anderson turnovers. Thanks to their hot 3-point shooting, Barton averaged 1.32 points per possession.
