ANDERSON, S.C. - Five Anderson University players scored in double figures as the Lady Trojans ripped Erskine 89-47 in a CVAC game Monday night at the Abney Center. Anderson, 12-2 overall and 6-1 in the CVAC, was led by senior Deidra Langston, who scored a game-high 23 points. She was followed by Keana Boyd with 14 points, and Latrice Thomas, Mikala Fogle-Wilson, and Haley Riffle with 10 points apiece. Anderson, ranked No. 20 in the Division II coaches' poll, scored 36 points off 24 Erskine turnovers. Erskine, 2-9 and 2-6, was led by Audrey Timmerman with 15 points. Timmerman was 5-for-10 from 3-point range. After two ties and three lead changes in the first four minutes, Anderson went on a 31-9 run starting at the 16:01 mark to seize a 42-20 lead with 3:28 left in the first half. Leading 46-26 at the half, the Lady Trojans opened the second half with an 11-3 run for a 57-29 lead with 16:58 remaining. From that point, Anderson steadily built its lead. A layup by Riffle pushed the lead over 30 for the first time - 66-35 - with 12:30 to play. The Lady Trojans' topped 40 for the first time - 83-42 -- on a layup by Shadae Thompson with 2:37 to play. Anderson's lead reached 44 points twice in the final 90 seconds. Anderson shot 53 percent from the field, while limiting Erskine to 35 percent. Led by Genia Holbrook and Langston with seven rebounds apiece, Anderson dominated the glass, 42-30. Boyd handed out seven of Anderson's 21 assists.
