Langston Named CVAC Player Of The Week

THOMASVILLE, N.C. -- Deidra Langston, a 5-foot-10 senior forward from Anderson University, has been selected as the NCAA Division II Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference (CVAC) women's basketball Player of the Week for the second week of the 2006-07 season. Langston averaged a double-double for the week -- 19.6 points and 11.6 rebounds. Langston, a native of Gainesville, Ga., helped lead Anderson to three road victories. She scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds in Anderson's CVAC opener at Lees-McRae. Then in the Red Roof Inn Classic at West Virginia State, Langston recorded two double-doubles to lead Anderson to a pair of region victories with 23 points and 15 rebounds against Davis & Elkins and 25 points and 12 rebounds against West Virginia State. Langston also played a big role in Anderson's defensive play during the week. The Lady Trojans held all three opponents under 50 points. With their 3-0 week, Langston and the Lady Trojans improved their record to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the CVAC.
