FLORENCE, S.C. -- Matt Hill was 4-for-5 and drove in two runs and Blair Carson had two hits in five trips and drove in three runs to lead Anderson to a 12-5 victory over UNC Pembroke in a non-conference game Saturday afternoon. Anderson, 1-6 overall, scored five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 7-1 lead. Derek Hipp had a two-run single and Carson and Hill both had RBI singles in the inning. After the Braves cut the Anderson lead to 7-5 in the top of the sixth, the Trojans put the game away with three runs in the seventh and two more in the eighth. In the seventh, pinch-runner Nick Easterlin scored on a wild pitch and Carson hit a two-out, two-run homer. In the eighth, Walt Quattlebaum and Ed Johnson had back-to-back doubles and Roberson provided a run-scoring single. Corey Welch pitched the final 3 2/3 innings to pick up the victory for Anderson. Anderson plays Lander Sunday afternoon.
