Varagic Signs With Men's Basketball Program

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Jovan Varagic, a 6-foot-6, 200-pound wing/forward from Subotica, Serbia, has signed a national letter of intent with Anderson University, AU head men's basketball coach Jason Taylor announced Wednesday afternoon. "One word to describe Jovan would be versatile," Taylor said. "He has a great feel of how to play on the offensive end. He can dribble, shoot, pass, and post. Jovan will make us a better basketball team." Varagic will graduate from United Faith Christian School in Charlotte, N.C. in June. During his senior year, he averaged 12 points, 4.5 rebounds and three assists per game playing for head coach Shaun Wiseman. Varagic helped lead the Falcons to a 30-3 overall record. United Faith, which also has three Division I signees, earned a trip to the state championship game where they were runner ups. Varagic is listed on Scout.com with the best players in the state of North Carolina as a two-star recruit. Prior to the 2007-08 season, Varagic played for the Spartak Club Team in Serbia where he led his junior team in scoring at 35 points per game. Varagic joins Nick Trull in the 2008 Anderson recruiting class.
