Trojans Get Road Victory At Limestone

GAFFNEY, S.C. -- Brandon Young scored 20 points and Nayte Russell added 17 to lead Anderson University to a 67-59 victory over Limestone in a Conference Carolinas game Wednesday night. Anderson, 4-8 overall and 2-3 in the conference, limited Limestone to 21 percent from the field in the first half on its way to a 27-21 halftime lead. After shooting just 31 percent in the first half, Anderson shot 50 percent in the second half to hang on for the victory and snap a three-game losing streak. Anderson finished the game at 39 percent from the field while Limestone shot just 28 percent. Stephen Cobb was the third Anderson player in double figures with 12 points. Kenny White scored 15 points to lead Limestone. Both teams took more than half of their shots from behind the arc. Anderson was 11-for-29 from behind the arc, 7-for-14 in the second half. Young was 5-for-8 from behind the arc. Limestone made just 5 of 33 shots from behind the arc. Anderson battled through foul trouble to pull out the victory. The Trojans lost one player to fouls and had three others with four fouls when the game ended. Limestone outscored Anderson by 10 points at the line. The Saints were 24-for-32 from the line, while Anderson was 14-for-19. Anderson's Kris Fudzinskas led all rebounders with 10, and Russell had a game-high five assists.
