Coker Gets Past Anderson, 61-50

HARTSVILLE, S.C. -- Josh Poston scored 14 points, including two 3-point baskets in a one-minute span late in the second half to lead Coker to a 61-50 victory over Anderson University in a Conference Carolinas game Monday night. Coker, 1-2 overall and 1-0 in Conference Carolinas, led 24-23 at the half. There were nine lead changes in the second half before a basket by Mason Ambler gave the Cobras a 36-35 lead with 11:44 to play. Coker never trailed again. Ambler also finished the game with 14 points. Anderson, 1-1 and 0-1, was led by Brandon Young, who scored a game-high 16 points. Kevis Cornwell chipped in eight points for the Trojans. Poston's two 3-point goals came at 7:12 and 6:16 and increased the Cobra lead from 41-38 to 47-38. Coker won the boards, 42-31. Ambler was the game's leading rebounder with nine.
