Trull Signs With Men's Basketball Program

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Nick Trull, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound guard from Charlotte, N.C., has signed a national letter of intent with Anderson University, AU head coach Jason Taylor announced Wednesday. "Nick is a basketball player . . . period," Taylor said. "He is a gym rat. Nick is going to make a positive impact on our basketball program and Anderson University over the next four years. I could not be more excited about Nick choosing Anderson to continue his basketball career and his education." Trull will graduate from Hickory Grove School in June. During his senior year, he averaged 24.4 points, six rebounds and two assists per game playing for head coach Jim Rhodes. Trull ended his career as Hickory Grove's all-time scoring leader with 1,789 points. Trull was named to the Charlotte Weekly's 2008 Boys' Basketball first team as well as the Charlotte Observer's All-Mecklenburg third team. He also received All-Conference (MAC) honors during his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons. Trull was named to the All-Tournament team at the Bojangles Shootout, and was picked for three all-star games -- the Charlotte All-Star Classic, the Five Star All-Star team, and the Eastern Invitational All-Star team. Trull is Anderson's first signee for the class of 2008.
