Lady Trojans Crack Limestone, 112-68

GAFFNEY, S.C. -- Anderson College placed six players in double figures and tied a single-game school record for points scored in a 112-68 rout of Limestone in a CVAC women's game Saturday night. Anderson, 11-3 overall and 6-1 in the CVAC, won for the seventh straight time and moved to within one-half game of first place in the CVAC thanks to Belmont Abbey's victory over Barton. The Lady Trojans also scored 112 against Allen last January. The Lady Trojans, ranked seventh in the East Region poll, have topped 100 points three times this season and in back-to-back games. The seven-game winning streak is a first for the four-year program. Leann Segers led AC with 22 points. She was followed by Decole Shoemate with 17 points, Stephanie Ponds with 16, LaShonda Chiles with 14, and Deidra Langston and Shemika Reed with 13 apiece. Laura Knapp led Limestone, 2-11 and 1-7, with 20 points. AC shot 55 percent from the field and forced a school single-game record 32 turnovers. Anderson scored 35 points off of Limestone's turnovers. Ponds was the game's leading rebounder with 10. Deanna Thompson had six of AC's 21 steals. Anderson led 23-12 with 10:10 remaining in the first half. From that point, AC outscored Limestone 36-16 for a 59-28 halftime lead. The 59 points is a single-game school record for points in a half. AC's largest lead was 46 -- 94-48 -- with 7:12 left in the game. AC-Limestone Box Season Statistics
