Lady Trojans Enter Regional Rankings

ANDERSON, S.C. -- The Anderson College women's basketball team is ranked seventh in the East Region in the latest Division II poll released Wednesday. The Lady Trojans, 10-3 overall and 5-1 in the CVAC, have won six straight. The No. 7 ranking is the highest ever for the four-year program. The AC women were ranked briefly at No. 8 last January. Glenville State is ranked No. 1 in the region. California (Pa.) is No. 2, Pittsburgh-Johnstown is No. 3, West Virginia State is No. 4, Barton is No. 5, and Edinboro is No. 6. The Lady Trojans also are ranked in the top 25 in four statistical categories -- two team and two individual. The AC women are ninth in 3-point field goals per game (7.8) and 16th in scoring (80.9). In the individual statistics, LaShonda Chiles is fifth in free throw percentage (90.9) and Leann Segers is 22nd in 3-point field goals per game (2.7).
