Willis Signs To Play Basketball At AC

ANDERSON, S.C. - Leanna Willis of Ninety Six High School has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball at Anderson College, AC head Kevin Pederson announced Tuesday afternoon. "Leanna is exactly what we're looking for at Anderson College," Pederson said. "She's tough, hard working and a gifted athlete who is the total package. She can score, rebound, and defend. We're extremely proud to have her join the AC basketball program." Willis was a member of a SCISA state championship team as a sophomore before transferring to Ninety Six. As a junior at Ninety Six, she averaged 19.9 points, five rebounds, four steals, and three assists per game. Willis has been named the Wendy's Heisman Award winner for the state of South Carolina. She remains in the running for the regional award, which would earn her a trip to the Downtown Athletic Club in New York City.
