Women's Basketball Team Ninth In Final Poll

ANDERSON, S.C. -- The Anderson College women's basketball team finished No. 9 in the final USA TODAY/ESPN DIVISION II Top 25 Coaches' Poll released Tuesday night. Anderson, 33-3 overall, won the CVAC regular-season and tournament titles and reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. "It was a terrific season," said Anderson College head coach Kevin Pederson. "We won 23 straight and reached a lot of our goals. I am very proud of this team." National champion Washburn (32-2) was ranked No. 1 in the final poll. Rounding out the top 10 were Seattle Pacific (30-3), Shaw (32-2), Merrimack (29-6), Drury (29-2), Central Arkansas (28-7), Charleston (W.Va.) (29-5), Grand Valley State (28-6), Anderson, and Emporia State (27-6). The complete poll is available at www.wbca.org.
