ANDERSON, S.C. -- On the heels of the most successful season in school history, sophomore Lasse Sohrweide and senior Paulo Passini have been named to the 2009 Daktronics NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region Men's Soccer Teams. Sohrweide was named to the first team, while Passini earrned second-team accolades. Sohrweide wrapped up the season ranked 48th nationally in goals per game and 57th in points per game and led the conference in shots per game and ranked second in five offensive categories. The Flensberg, Germany, native scored two game-winning goals during the regular season and tied Passini for team scoring honors with 31 points behind 14 goals and three assists. Sohrweide scored in 11 matches, including three matches with two goals. Passini, a three-time all conference honoree, ranked 15th nationally in goals per game and 19th in points per game, while earning conference Player of the Week honors on Sept. 15. The 5-foot-10 native of Belo Horizonte, Brazil, led the league in points, points per game, goals and goals per game during the regular season. He also notched a league-leading four game-winning goals during the regular season. Along with Sohrweide, Passini notched 31 points on the strength of his 14 goals and scored in 10 matches, including three matches with two or more goals. The Daktronics NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region Teams are voted on by the sports information directors of the Southeast Region; voting is powered by ATHLETICSITE.COM. The region is comprised of the Conference Carolinas, the Peach Belt Conference, the South Atlantic Conference, and North Greenville University. The team is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition.
