Mens Soccer Climbs to 11th in the Nation

ANDERSON, S.C. -- The Anderson mens soccer team continues to garner attention with its best start in school history, climbing to No. 11 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll, after being ranked 19th last week. The ranking marks the first time AU has climbed into the Top 25 poll since becoming a four-year institution in 1991-92. Anderson (5-0, 1-0 Conference Carolinas) possesses an explosive offensive, averaging 4.2 goals per match and is led by senior Paulo Passini's seven scores on the season. Sophomore Lasse Sohrweide is just behind, with six goals in 2009. The Trojan's defense has also been impressive, allowing an average of just one goal per contest. "It is great recognition for the program and all the hard work everyone has put in," said Anderson head coach Rob Miller. The Trojans are at home on Saturday, playing host to conference foe Barton with kick-off slated for 7 p.m. at the AU Soccer Field.
