Volleyball and Soccer Rank Among Nation's Best

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Senior forward Paulo Passini and junior outside hitter Jamie Lancaster each currently rank in the top 10 in the nation in their respective sports and propelling their teams into the national limelight as well, per the most recent DII statistics report. Passini is third in the NCAA in goals per game, netting 1.5 per contest and is also third nationally points per contest at 3.17, while Lancaster boasts a national ranking of eighth in kills per set by averaging 4.25 per match. The Trojans' volleyball team (7-6, 2-2 Conference Carolinas) is 13th in the NCAA in digs per set (17.43) as AU prepares to open a two-game home stand by playing host to Coker Friday night at the Abney Center. Sophomore Lasse Sohrweide and junior Zach Denson join Passini in the rankings, with Sohrweide scoring one goal per game, to rank 17th , while Denson is 20th in the NCAA with 0.67 assists per match. Following Wednesday night's 2-2 draw at Erskine, Anderson visits conference foe Pfeiffer on Saturday, with kick-off slated for 2 p.m. in the second match of a women's-men's doubleheader.
