HARTSVILLE, S.C. -- The 15th ranked Anderson men' soccer team ran its unbeaten streak to seven matches behind goals from seniors Paulo Passini and Rayon Markland Saturday afternoon at the Coker Soccer Field. Anderson improved to 12-1-2 overall and 6-1-2 in conference play, while Coker fell to 10-4-2 overall and 4-4-1 in the conference. It was a hard-fought, tightly contested game with each team registering six shots on goal and a total of 22 fouls being issued. Passini got the Trojans on the board with a header off a cross into the middle from Ben Jones in the 48th minute. Then Markland netted the insurance goal off a deflection in the 74th minute. Coker had opportunities to break into the scoring column, but Trojan keeper Benjamin Pepion secured the shutout while making three saves. Anderson returns to the pitch on Thursday, Oct. 29, when the Trojans visit USC Aiken for a non-conference matchup, then close out the regular season at Mount Olive on Saturday.
