Four Anderson Soccer Players Make All-CVAC Team

BELMONT, N.C. -- Anderson College had three men and one woman named to the 2005 All-CVAC soccer team at the league's annual banquet Friday night at Belmont Abbey. For the men's team, Tolu Popoola and Douglas Nyame were named to the first team and Lahnden Onger was named to the second team. Popoola, a junior from London, England, led the Trojans in goals (8) and tied for the team lead in assists (4) during the regular season. Nyame, a freshman from Kumasi, Ghana, helped anchor an AC defense that posted three shutouts and allowed just one goal in four other matches. Onger, a freshman from Abilene, Texas, scored six goals and had two assists during the regular season. Onger also received the league's Freshman of the Year award. Three is the most players Anderson has ever had named to the All-CVAC men's soccer team in a single season. For the women's team, Megan Delancey received honorable mention honors for the second straight season. Delancey, a junior from Orlando, Fla., led Anderson's defense and scored three goals.
