Cannavan's Goal Pulls Out Victory For Anderson

GAFFNEY, S.C. -- Freshman Bruno Cannavan scored midway though the second overtime to give Anderson College a 3-2 CVAC victory over Limestone Wednesday afternoon. Anderson improves to 3-4 overall and 2-0 in the CVAC. Limestone falls to 2-3-1, 0-1. Limestone's David Ash opened the scoring near the 15-minute mark off a rebound to get the Saints a 1-0 lead. Anderson's Tolu Popoola matched that goal late in the half to even the score at 1. The goal was Popoola's sixth of the season. In the second half, Anderson came out strong with Lahnden Onger scoring at 51:08 off an assist by Popoola. Limestone fought back with Joel Moran tying the game at 2 at the 57-minute mark. Limestone goalkeeper Ryan Robinson made a clutch save off a free kick at the end of regulation to keep the Saints in the game. In the first overtime, both teams had several chances, but the score remained tied at 2. The match was Anderson's fourth of the season decided by a 3-2 score.
